The advantages of a temporary warehouse job

Temporary jobs are becoming increasingly popular and offer benefits that permanent jobs may not offer, such as flexibility, work-life balance, and weekly pay rather than monthly. In this article, we will discuss the core benefits of temporary warehousing jobs.

Challenge-trg Recruitment offers plenty of full time and/or part time temporary vacancies for a variety of our clients which include Amazon, ASOS, Boohoo, Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive, GXO sites (previously known as XPO), Nestle, Del Monte, plus many more.

Our clients are located all over England from major cities such as Manchester, Peterborough, Leeds and London to smaller cities such as Stoke-on-Trent, Oxford, Bolton, Barnsley and Wakefield.

Our top 5 benefits of working in a temporary warehousing job

Flexibility

Depending on availability, we offer a range of shifts times and dates for you to choose from, which gives you the flexibility to choose work patterns that suit you. Some clients offer both full time and part time shifts. This allows you to have a healthy work-life balance and gives you the chance to enjoy your personal life without feeling overpowered by work. Temporary jobs can also give you the flexibility to work overtime with some of our clients offering double pay for overtime.

We have many temporary jobs available which offer you the flexibility to pick where you want to work. To learn more about the temporary job vacancies we have available at what we have to offer near you.

Gain experience

Depending on the client and role we have available, we may not need you to have any previous experience or qualifications. When you start a temporary warehousing job you have the opportunity to gain experience and skills on the job. Temporary jobs are a great way to learn a variety of transferable skills which are essential for different fields.

A few of our clients also encourage their associates to gain skills and experience in other roles such as picking, packing, and FLT driving which not only makes you invaluable to your current employer but adds to your CV, making you more employable in the future. Check out the case studies at the end of this article to read about how some of our colleagues have progressed from temporary warehousing operatives to consultants and managers.

Weekly pay

Most of the time, as a temporary worker, you are paid weekly, and this is usually in both part-time and full-time roles. Instead of waiting until the end of the month to see the reward for your hard work, temporary jobs can offer weekly pay which means you will be able to see the reward for your hard work in a single week – allowing you to manage your expenditure differently to those who are paid monthly.

Extra benefits

There are plenty of extra benefits to working as a Challenge-trg temporary associate, from sign-on bonuses to free transport. These can vary by client but below are some examples of what our clients have offered:

Amazon = Previously giving warehouse workers up to £3000 sign-on bonuses PLUS up to £2000 referral bonuses.

ASOS = Previously/currently providing subsidised transport, FREE gym membership and 25% discount on ASOS after 3 months.

Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive = Training and career opportunities, including training for towing trains, FLTs, MHEs and LLOPs, and Free Parking

Potential permanent position

Temporary jobs are not always there for a short time, sometimes there is potential for a permanent contract.

If you desire a career in a warehouse, whether that is being a Warehouse Operative, Production Operative, Picker Packer, Site Manager, or Consultant, you need to always be on the lookout for potential opportunities.

Many of our clients offer temporary to permanent positions including Amazon, ASOS, Boohoo, Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive, GXO sites (previously known as XPO), Nestle, Del Monte, plus many more!
