A big congratulations to Aime, who recently passed the Skills for Life Skills Bootcamp in HGV Driving!
Amie has worked in various roles and sectors, but since her childhood she has always dreamed of being a professional HGV Driver, following in her father’s footsteps. As a youngster, Amie would often accompany her father during the school holidays as he travelled the length and breadth of the country delivering loads to customers. She would often work at the haulage yard at weekends, and she was even able to practices moving tractor units under supervision.
Until recently, Amie never dreamed that she would achieve her dream until she was made redundant recently and being short of funds her ambition seemed even farther away.
Amie came across the Skills Bootcamp in HGV Driving via Challenge-trg Skills and applied, she attended an Open Day/Assessment Day at our Rochdale branch and successfully navigated her way through the day, gaining a place on the programme. Amie poured her heart and soul into the course; she not only passed all her assignments with flying colours but also passed her driving tests first time.
Amie has been successful at interview and has been offered a position with a local haulier (they have even told her they have a truck ready for her).
